The 2007 Silverado vs. The 2007 Silverado Classic
In 2007, Chevrolet debuted a redesigned Silverado. It is often referred to as GMT-900 or "new body style" Silverado. This year also introduced new 2007 Silverado headlights that are a key feature of the updated design.
At the same time, they continued to offer the older design for 2007. It was now labeled the Silverado Classic.
Why is it important?
When shopping for parts for your 2007 Chevy pickup, it's very important to know if you have the Silverado or Silverado Classic. Many parts for these trucks are NOT interchangeable. Choosing the wrong model is likely to show you parts that will not fit your truck.
How do I tell which one I have?
The Classic is a carryover of the 2006 Silverado. Visually, the largest tip off is the boxier design however there are additional cosmetic differences:
- The Classic typically has "Chevrolet" on the tailgate, whereas the new body style has a large, centered Bowtie, making it important to know when shopping for a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado tailgate
- The Classic has a two-piece headlight assembly, which differs from the 2007 Silverado headlights in the new model
- The Classic has smaller flaring around the fenders
- The Classic has a grille bar that splits the headlights
