About us

We started our business 18 years ago by selling cars out of our driveway, and once business picked up and started growing we got our dealers license and officially became Modern Day Motor Cars, which we still operate here in Wadsworth, OH! *Side note: You’ll notice that the “About Us” page is going to say "our" and "we" a lot because we are a family run business and this page is written by us, about us,  this is not some weird marketing tactic, it’s just our story being given to you, straight from us.

As we ran Modern Day and began doing auto repairs, our son got to the age where it was time to start looking for his first car. He initially had his heart set on a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix, but while at work one day he noticed we had a 2002 Jeep Wrangler TJ with a blown motor behind the building and a lightbulb went ding over his head! After some long discussion (more like convincing,) we agreed on the idea of taking that black 02 TJ and turning it into a "Jurassic Park" Jeep. Now for those of you familiar with the film, yes it is a YJ used for production, but we had a TJ and plan. What we thought would be a couple month project turned into a year and a half long project, but after replacing most of the vehicle we now have ourselves a 2002 "Jurassic Park" Jeep Wrangler TJ that our son still has as a daily driver.

In the process of building the Jeep we did need to replace every brake, fuel, and transmission line on the vehicle, which got us in contact with a local company who was able to custom make the lines for us. After talking to some local Jeep guys and getting the transmission lines made for them, we realized that there may be a need for them out there and made our first eBay listing. Things have only grown from there over the past couple of years with us now having our own website, an eBay store, and we are currently working on getting our products onto Amazon. It's been a bit of a crazy journey but we are still here growing, learning,  and of course we are still a family business! Our kids are older now so they are able to be a larger part of the company (at least when college isn’t going on!)

Our main goal is to be able to provide high quality, brand name products but with the customer service of a family business. As we learned from the transmission lines, there are needs for products out there that we didn't even know about, so we would like to be the company with an open platform you can come to about parts that are troublesome to find, impossible to find, or that you wish were out there! We want to continue to grow and become a resource for both parts and information on every vehicle possible.

We don’t just want to sell you a product once and send you out the door, we’d like to share as much of our knowledge and experience as we can with you, the customer. Knowledge isn’t a one way street, we want to learn as much, if not more, from our customers than we share with them.
