Why Montrose Drivers Make the Drive

Montrose straddles Bath and Copley townships either side of Route 18 and Cleveland-Massillon Road. From there it is Route 18 west, Route 21 south, Route 224 west to Route 57 and south into Wadsworth — around twenty minutes.

Montrose is Summit County, so E-Check applies at registration renewal. Failed-test repair is what we do every week: pull the codes, find the cause, fix it.

Worth the drive mainly on the bigger jobs. A brake job or a converter is where the difference against a dealer quote covers the trip several times over; a patch or a flex pipe probably is not worth crossing the county for.

What We Do for Montrose Vehicles

Exhaust and brake work is what we do all day, every day. Starting prices are real numbers, not a range — call for an exact quote on your vehicle.

Brake Repairs

Squeaking, grinding, or a soft pedal? We diagnose and repair the whole brake system — pads, rotors, calipers, hardware and lines. Most cars are a same-day job.

Shop brake kits, pads & rotors From $399 per axle, parts & labor

Muffler Replacement & Repair

A muffler that has gone loud is usually rusted through at a seam or has lost its internal baffling. Direct-fit bolts into the factory hangers and looks stock; universal is welded in and costs less. We will tell you which one your vehicle actually needs.

Shop mufflers From $89.99 installed

Catalytic Converters

Converter replacement for a P0420 code or a failed emissions test. We diagnose what killed the original first — replacing a converter without fixing the cause just kills the new one.

Shop converters From $349.99, universal fit

Ohio E-Check & Emissions Repair

Bring us the failure report. We pull the codes, find why it failed, and fix it — most often a converter, an oxygen sensor or a misfire.

Flex Pipe Repairs

The braided section behind the manifold is usually the first thing on an Ohio car to rust through. Same-visit fix in most cases.

From $119.99 welded

Custom Exhaust

Cat-back, axle-back, turbo-back, dual conversions and tip work, bent and welded on site to your vehicle.

Questions from Montrose Customers

Does my Montrose vehicle need an Ohio E-Check?

Montrose is in Summit County, one of the seven Ohio counties where E-Check is required, so most vehicles here have to pass before the registration can be renewed. We do not run the test itself — we do the repair that gets you through it. A failure is very often a catalytic converter, an oxygen sensor or a misfire, and all three are our everyday work. Bring the printed failure report and call (330) 485-6823.

Is it worth driving over from Montrose?

It is about 12 miles and roughly 20 minutes — Route 18 west to Route 21, then Route 224. Most exhaust work is done while you wait, so it is usually one trip rather than a drop-off. Call (330) 485-6823 first and we can have the part on the shelf before you set off.

Do I need an appointment?

Walk-ins are welcome and a lot of exhaust work gets done the same day, but calling ahead on (330) 485-6823 means we can have the part ready when you arrive. Brake jobs are worth booking.

How long does a muffler or flex pipe repair take?

Most muffler replacements and flex pipe repairs are done inside a couple of hours, often while you wait. Custom fabrication takes longer because it is bent to the vehicle.

Do the parts you install come with a warranty?

Parts we fit carry their manufacturer’s own warranty, and it varies by brand and by part. Ask us before the work starts and we will tell you what the specific part you are getting is covered for. For a part bought from our online store, our warranty information page explains how to start a claim.

Why is my check engine light on after a new catalytic converter?

Usually because whatever killed the original converter is still there — a misfire, an oxygen sensor, or oil getting into the exhaust. That is why we diagnose upstream before quoting a converter.
